New Minimum Wage rates come into force

 October 2012

New Minimum Wage rates come into force on 1st October 2012

Monday, 1 October 2012

Some Minimum Wage rates have changed and the following rates come into force today, 1 October 2012. Although not all.
The rates are:
           .   6.19 – the main rate for workers aged 21 and over (up from £6.08)
  • £4.98 – the 18-20 rate (no change)
  • £3.68 – the 16-17 rate for workers above school leaving age but under 18 (no change)
  • £2.65 – the apprentice rate, for apprentices under 19 or 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship (up from £2.60)
  • £4.82 – amount permitted to be taken into account where living accommodation has been provided (up from £4.73)
