The Clients Challenge

The clients are a firm of accountants. They employed someone as an accounts assistant which a starter job. The employee was unable to carry out even the most basic tasks without errors. At the end of a 3 month probation period the employer dismissed the employee on the basis that they were not up to the job. Ordinarily that would have been an end to the matter but the employee brought proceedings in the employment tribunal for nearly a third of a million pounds!

The TM Law Solution

After the claim was made we put in a robust response to the claim and at every step of the way made sure that the employee and the tribunal knew of our clients view that there was no merit in the claim and that it was fabricated.

After attempts by the employee to negotiate a settlement of money which we robustly rejected, we finally managed to persuade the employee to discontinue the claim under the threat of seeking an order for costs against them if they did not withdraw.
