The Clients Challenge

Client are a firm of accountants. They employed someone as an accounts assistant but they were unable to carry out the most basic of tasks. At the end of a three month probation period the employer dismissed the employee on the basis that they had not got a grasp of the most basic of work presented to them. Ordinarily that would have been that but this employee brought proceedings in an employment tribunal for nearly a third of a million pounds.

The TM Law Solution

We put in a robust response to the claim and at every step of the claim made sure the employee and the tribunal knew of our clients view that there was nothing in the claim and that it was in effect fabricated.

After attempts by the employee to negotiate a settlement of money which we robustly rejected we finally persuaded the employee to discontinue the claim under the threat of seeking an order for costs if they did not withdraw.
